A Family Thing Consulting Services

     A detailed list

Website Design and Development

     Planning

Before you begin anything else, A Family Thing wants you to be confident of what your goals are for your site, and what you wish to accomplish with your new site. Determine whether you will need any special additions to your site, such as an image gallery, shopping cart, or automatic webmail. Do some browsing, find an appealing style of website, and consider color schemes organization and page usage.

These steps are needed from you, as our client, before any consultation with A Family Thing designers and programmers.

     Consultation

Once you have determined the preliminary necessities, your consultation with an AFT designer or programmer is ready to begin. During this meeting, via in person, phone, email, or online messenger, you will discuss the specifics of your website. Everything you decided on before the meeting will be shared, then you and your designer or programmer can discuss the finer details, such as navigation items, page layout, and content.

Just as a reminder, any materials, such as a logo, photos, and content will have to be supplied to your designer at this time.

Based on your specifications, and the AFT team, a quote will be generated for your site. At this time, a deposit of 50% of that quote is required before the construction of your site begins. This protects A Family Thing from fraudulent claims, and allows payment for the software, materials, and time needed.

     Development

Now its time for the designers and programmers to get in action! From here, your AFT team will begin creating your website. Their first step will be to come up with an initial design. This design will come in the form of an image where you can see possible schemes, layouts, and content will be used as filler. If you decide that you do not like the design, a new one will be created. This series of events prevents a programmer from having to code a page that the client determines is not best for them.

Once a design is chosen, the programmer will begin coding and programming the site for you. They will include your content wherever needed, supply you with the proper pages and then create a live demo for you to view your site. Also, a site map will be created, to allow you to one-click view every page of your site.

Any type of contact or submission form will be included last, assuming it is desired and that the client provided adequate information for the form.

     Installation and Payment

Your site is now finished, and you are satisfied! If it is needed, an AFT employee will transfer the files directly to your ftp server, and make sure the site is fully functional. Along the journey of completing your site, your AFT designers and programmers have been keeping an invoice of their work. You will receive a copy of the invoice prior to any files being transferred. There are many types of payment options available. We accept credit cards, checks, money orders, and PayPal. Once your payment is made, your file transfer will be pending, until confirmation of the payment is received by A Family Thing. After the launch of your site, you will receive a receipt showing that your site has been paid for in full.

Technical and Mechanical Computer Support

Our AFT employees are trained with both the technical and mechanical functions of a computer. To receive technical or mechanical support from A Family Thing, please contact AFT via the contact page.

Once sent, your inquiry will be assessed by an AFT employee, and you will be sent a quote. After the quote is sent, and you have agreed to the offered support, you will receive an invoice with your payment due. Payment for this support is often an hourly rate, depending on the amount of time required. Your payment must be sent after completion of the work.

Note that once you have sent the inquiry, and accepted the suggested quote, you have agreed to the payment terms of the invoice and are bound to that contract. Failure to pay after the support staff have fixed your presented issue will result in a breach of contract.

Website, Forum, and Database Support

A Family Thing provides support for your current website, forum or database. If you have a previously launched site, forum or database that requires maitenance, AFT's programmers, coders, and designers can work to reorganize, updated, and maintain it for you.

We also offer on-the-spot support if you have a quick fix problem, or don't need the entire maintenance.

Payment for this type of support is often an hourly rate, but can be a flat rate for smaller jobs. Again, an invoice will be sent prior to the work being done, payment will be accepted, and then receipt will be sent.
